I’m setting myself the challenge this year of blogging, not to say every day or maybe not even every week, but whenever I have that strange urge to write something. I am interested in loads of things. I pick up hobbies weekly. I want to collate those moments or things I learn for myself and also for you, if you happen to find and reasd this.
The things I like are quite universal. I love cooking. I love crafts, like linocutting and painting, although I’m yet to try either properly. I love home renovations and DIY. I studied history and I am interested in social history and language. I love etymology. I love films and filming, cameras and photography.
Blogging is also an exercise in writing. Already, writing just this introduction, I feel myself performing, trying to impress a non-existent reader. I don’t want to do this. My aim is to give you (myself, anyone) the most direct view in to what I have seen or expereinced or tasted or liked, nothing else, just a regurgitation of my day in a concise way, if that can be interesting.
I’m sick of the internet, I’m feeling more of a Luddite each day. I’m sick of gaining through the internet, oversharing, charging, influencing, it makes me feel depressed, jealous, competitive. We’ll talk more about that.
